Former Tottenham man John Bostock has messaged Dane Scarlett after he took his record of being the youngest player to appear for Spurs.
After signing from Crystal Palace, Bostock made his first Tottenham appearance in the UEFA Cup against Dinamo Zagreb in 2008, aged 16 years and 295 days as the BBC state.
However, Scarlett appeared against Ludogorets on Thursday aged just 16 years and 247 days old, beating the record by a matter of days.
Bostock wrote the following message to the wonderkid on Twitter.
Despite coming on with just nine minutes remaining, Scarlett still managed to impress in the Europa League clash.
The teenager had one shot – which was on target – and also made a key pass during his historic cameo.

Hopefully, Scarlett’s Tottenham career can hit the heights that it promises, unlike Bostock’s did.
The now 28-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving French outfit Toulouse.
The Crystal Palace academy graduate has been with 11 different clubs since signing for Tottenham, and really hasn’t lived up to his astronomical potential.

Bostock only ever made four appearances for Spurs’ first-team, and also only appeared once for the north Londoners’ development side according to Transfermarkt.
It is Tottenham’s duty of care to ensure the same doesn’t happen to Scarlett.
