Former Tottenham Hotspur loanee Pau Lopez has ‘a foot and a half in [Real] Betis’, according to Diario AS.

Lopez spent the whole of last season at Tottenham, but failed to make a competitive appearance for Mauricio Pochettino’s team.

Speaking to Tutto Mercato Web in January, the goalkeeper’s old boss, Sergio Gonzalez, suggested that a return to north London was possible this summer.

According to AS, however, Lopez – whose Espanyol contract expires at the end of the campaign – is close to agreeing terms with Real Betis instead.

Spurs goalkeeper Michel Vorm reacts during the Premier League match between Swansea City and Tottenham Hotspur at Liberty Stadium on April 5, 2017 in Swansea, Wales.

He could be a useful addition for Tottenham, however, who face losing Michel Vorm at the end of his contract this summer.

Vorm is a target for Feyenoord, as reported by Voetbal International last month.
