Ismail Azzaoui was a bemusing sale by Tottenham Hotspur in 2015. His career has not panned out as he hoped.

Ismail Azzaoui was one of the more exciting players to come through Tottenham Hotspur’s academy in recent years.
The dazzling winger scored six goals for Spurs’ under-18s in their 2014/15 FA Youth Cup run… and then was bemusingly sold to Wolfsburg the following August.
His progress at Wolfsburg was halted by an ACL injury which cost Azzaoui a year of his career.
After bouncing back during an impressive loan spell in Holland last season at Willem II, the Belgian youth international has suffered another cruel blow.
He confirmed via Instagram at the weekend that he is having to undergo another operation.
He suffered another knee injury upon his return to training with Wolfsburg.
Azzaoui may always have been fated to suffer with injury, but he will wonder if he would have had better luck if he stayed with Tottenham.
Still just 20-years-old, Azzaoui has a lot of time left to bounce back, but with a recovery season required a year after his injury heals, the talented winger faces a long route to get back to his best and start making good on his potential.
