The Honduran does not however expect Spurs to win the league title.
Tottenham Hotspur take on Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League this evening, but it seems as though the clubs main focus is on winning the Premier League for the first time.
Spurs are just five points behind surprise leaders Leicester City in the title hunt.
Their good form has plenty of former Spurs players excited at the prospect of the title heading to White Hart Lane.
One such player is Honduran midfielder Wilson Palacios.
The 31-year-old joined Spurs from Wigan Athletic in 2009. He spent just two seasons at the club before heading to Stoke City.
Now playing in the NASL for Miami FC the 97-times capped Honduran international has been speaking to Deporte Total USA about his career and the chances of Spurs this season:
“It’s exciting, all young people who were in the reserves rose to play the for the title and is now exciting to see that they are there within touching distance.
“Although this is difficult with Leicester City, I expect them to be champions.”
Palacios is just one of several former Spurs players who have been left impressed by the young players at Spurs – even if he does not believe they will actually beat Leicester to the title.
Tottenham’s young stars have been excellent this season and if they do win the title it would be a fantastic indication of the great work done in the club’s youth academy.
