The Irishman believes he will one day be the focal point of the England team.
Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Andy Reid has been discussing the future of current Spurs star Dele Alli, in conversation with 888sport.
The Irishman joined Tottenham from Nottingham Forest in 2005 but spent just one season at the club before being sold to Charlton Athletic.
Alli has made a much more significant impact since making the move to the Premier League from the Football League.
England’s Dele Alli
In recent weeks the midfielder has been one of the better players in the country and this form has seen Reid suggest the England national team will be built around the player one day:
“You would imagine the England team of the future will be built around Dele Alli. He’s got everything you need from a midfielder and really is a special player. He can go up and down the pitch and score goals and has an absolutely fantastic temperament.
“He has everything it takes to be a really, really top player and I hope he stays at Tottenham and develops even more. It’s a good place to be and Pochettino is the perfect manager to help him develop as a player and as a person.”
Tottenham’s Dele Alli
Alli is undoubtedly at the right club to develop his talent.
His manager Pochettino has a desire to play young and hungry players and is clearly a huge fan of Alli.
Spurs are also a team on the up, with the Premier League title once again in their sights this season.
If Alli can keep up his current form then there is no doubt that he has the ability to take Spurs to silverware and be the first name on the national team-sheet.
Hopefully that can continue for years to come.
