Clarke will spend the 2019/20 season on loan at Leeds United from Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Tottenham Hotspur defender, Graham Roberts, finds the club’s decision to loan Jack Clarke back to Leeds United ‘a bit strange’.
Clarke’s Tottenham transfer was concluded on Tuesday, with Leeds due a fee of around £10 million, according to the BBC.
But Spurs fans must wait at least a year to see their first signing in 18 months play, after a season-long loan return was also agreed.
Discussing the deal on Jim White’s Talksport show earlier, Robers said: “I find that a bit strange. I think if you sign somebody, get them in, let him know the structure of the football club and the mentality of the football club, and he can move on.”

Clarke is not the first player signed by Tottenham to stay with his previous club, initially. And it worked out fairly well last time around.
“Obviously, he’s only 18,” added Roberts. “They want to give him another year so that he plays, like they did with Dele Alli. So that might be good for him.”

According to the Guardian, another player, the Lyon midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele, has today signed a six-year deal with Tottenham.
The newspaper claims Spurs have already agreed to pay a potential fee of around £64.5 million for the France international.
Clarke, who celebrated his 18th birthday midway through his breakthrough campaign last season, has scored or made four goals in 25 senior games for Leeds.
