Former Tottenham defender Sol Campbell’s reputation remains low among the fanbase.
Sol Campbell burned his bridges at Tottenham Hotspur back in 2001 when he left the club controversially on a free transfer to sign with Arsenal.
The former Spurs defender was the subject last night of an angry tweet from one of his predecessors at White Hart Lane, who branded him deluded, Graham Roberts.
Arsenal’s Sol Campbell after being booked
Campbell has been stepping up his punditry work over the past month, giving his thoughts on Arsenal’s current situation to SkySports yesterday.
Roberts had evidently seen enough, and used Twitter to hit out at the former England defender.
Roberts was quizzed over whether he would have made the switch to Arsenal had he been in a position to better himself sportingly and financially, and offered a swift rebuttal.
Campbell retired in 2012 and has stayed away from football over the following years but has been linked with going into coaching.
