Former Tottenham ace sticks up for the club’s players.

Tottenham Hotspur’s stars stepped up and delivered for England when they were needed most.
Harry Kane, Kieran Trippier and Eric Dier all scored in a penalty shootout against Colombia as the Three Lions reach the last 16.

They defied Tony Adams’ pre-World Cup prediction that it would be Tottenham’s players who let England down.
Former Spurs captain Graham Roberts reacted to England’s win by mocking ex-Arsenal skipper Adams.
Ahead of the World Cup, Adams told The Sun:“I’m really worried about these Tottenham players, I don’t think they know how to win.
“They’re very good players but at certain points in seasons and tournaments, you have to step up — there’s a psyche players must have.”
There are further steps for England to take in the tournament after reaching the quarter-finals.
Adams’ words may yet prove to be prophetic in the end, but right now Tottenham’s England players are doing a great job of making the former Arsenal star look silly.
