Tottenham Hotspur are said to have made an approach to sign the Belgian in 2015.

An alleged former Tottenham Hotspur target is going on the market in January, according to AS.
It is claimed that Diego Simeone has given Atletico Madrid ‘the go-ahead to sell’ winger Yannick Carrasco, having only started him five times in the league this season.
Carrasco had been a key player in previous campaigns, even scoring in Atleti’s Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid in 2016.

But with another winger, Vitolo, set to arrive in the Spanish capital when the transfer window reopens, the Belgian could see his opportunities decrease further in the second half of the campaign.
And Tottenham would be wise to explore Carrasco’s situation, given their 2015 approach for the 24-year-old [Le 10 Sport], who was then on Monaco’s books.
Spurs could perhaps do with strengthening in his position – and recent links with the likes of Watford’s Richarlison [London Evening Standard] suggest they plan to do so at some point in the near future – while their manager’s relationship with his Atletico counterpart [Mauricio Pochettino and Simeone were teammates for Argentina] could give them a slight advantage over rival suitors.

Any club hoping to sign Carrasco would have to splash out, although it is unlikely he would cost as much as his £86 million buyout clause.
Could – and should – Tottenham go back in for Carrasco?
