Gomez has good memories of playing against Cardiff; he struck a late winner against the Bluebirds while playing for Swansea in a League Cup tie in 2008.
The Spaniard was taunted throughout the match at the Cardiff City Stadium but had the last laugh when he stabbed home David Perkins’ cross with four minutes remaining.

The Bluebirds created two excellent chances to equalise in the dying minutes but Sol Bamba hammered a close range volley over the crossbar, and Stuart O’Keefe was denied by a goal-line clearance with the last kick of the game.
