Former star Luciano Becchio sends ’emotional’ message to Leeds United fans

Former Leeds striker’s efforts have been recognised by the club.

Luciano Becchio’s spell at Leeds may be well behind him, but the club left a lasting impression on the Argentine.

Becchio yesterday sent a message to supporters after receiving a present from the club, sent on behalf of new owner Andrea Radrizzani as part of his ‘Legend’s Club’ initiative.

The striker admitted feeling ’emotional’ upon receipt of the letter and shirt, and offered his best wishes to fans.

Former Leeds star Ian Harte was another to receive a gift earlier this week.

Leeds announced their Legend’s Club earlier this year as a hospitality experience, in which fans can enjoy matches in the company of former stars.

Becchio is expected to be mixing with supporters at Elland Road in 2018 after getting his invite from Radrizzani.

It is part of the new Leeds’ owner’s plan to foster a togetherness between fans and the club, with the ‘Leeds community’ at the forefront of his thoughts.
