When writing his regular column for the Daily Mail, former Spurs star Jamie Redknapp explained how Mauricio Pochettino has totally changed the perception of Tottenham since his appointment as manager in 2014, highlighting how they are no longer viewed by players as a stepping stone to greater things.
The Lilywhites gained ground on league leaders Chelsea on Saturday, after their impressive 2-0 win at Burnley, and currently sit just seven points adrift of Antonio Conte’s side in the Premier League table, with nine games still to go.
Long gone are the days where fourth place was a hopeful target – Spurs now expect to finish inside the top four as a bare minimum.
And Redknapp, who made 49 appearances for Tottenham, explained how the landscape at White Hart Lane has changed since the Argentine took the reigns in 2014, when writing his regular column for the Daily Mail:

“When I was playing, people used to see Tottenham as a stepping stone. Under Mauricio Pochettino, they believe they can win the league. Chelsea must focus on the fact that they can put the title to bed with victory over Pep Guardiola’s side. If they don’t, Tottenham are ready to pounce.”
Next up for Spurs is a trip to Swansea City, whilst Chelsea play host to Manchester City.
And if Pochettino’s men bring back all three points from Wales, they could find themselves even closer to Conte’s side come tomorrow night.
