Tottenham and Germany icon Jurgen Klinsmann spoke to TalkSport about Harry Kane amid exit rumours.
Kane is arguably Tottenham’s most important player and Spurs fans will hope their club will do everything they can to keep hold of him.
However, the Englishman recently admitted that he wants to win silverware and is not afraid to change clubs in order to do so in the future.
That struck fear in Tottenham fans who do not want to see their star striker leave the club any time soon.
Klinsmann, who left Tottenham in search of trophies back in 1995, has urged Kane to not follow his footsteps in pursuit of silverware this summer.
He said: “Watching him (Kane) from a distance, you wish him now titles. And so, I keep all my fingers crossed for Spurs and for him that he can collect trophies – that’s what it is all about at the end of the day.
“That’s why I left in ’95. Even though I loved it at White Hart Lane, I had to leave for Bayern Munich because I said, ‘well I’m running out of time. I’m 31 years old and I need to win a couple more trophies’.
“But he (Kane) has that chance with Spurs, he has a fantastic coach, he has a fantastic team and we all keep our fingers crossed that it happens sooner rather than later.”
Tottenham have not won a trophy in 12 years and haven’t won a league title in almost six decades.
That cannot continue or Kane, along with Tottenham’s other top players, will leave the club to fulfil their personal ambitions in the very near future.
Jose Mourinho was brought in to end Spurs’ trophy drought, and Tottenham supporters will be hoping he achieves that so Kane stays at the club for years to come.
