Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is now widely considered as one of the world’s best strikers.

Ex-Spurs striker Jermain Defoe sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and raved about the ability of Harry Kane, highlighting how he predicted that the 23-year-old would be the real deal before he became well-known on the world stage.
The England international was sensational for Tottenham this season, scoring 35 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions, and validated his standing as one of the world’s most dangerous strikers.
Kane also won the Golden Boot, despite being sidelined for prolonged periods of the campaign with two separate injuries.

And Defoe explained to TottenhamHotspur.com how the Spurs striker’s superb season has been no surprise to him whatsoever:
“If there is one team to be at right now, it’s Spurs and with ‘H’, I said ages ago he was a finisher. I said to the guys how good he was and if he got the chance, he would score goals. I’m not surprised with how well he’s done. That team creates chances and give him a chance and he’ll score.”
Defoe himself is renowned for his clinical goalscoring ability, and is currently 80 goals ahead of Kane in the all-time Premier League goalscoring charts.

The Lilywhites hitman does have 11 years on the Black Cats forward, however, and it would be no surprise to see Kane overtake Defoe, and make his way towards Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals.
The 34-year-old will leave Sunderland this summer, after a relegation release clause in his contract was made public knowledge, and wouldn’t it be great to see him return to Spurs and strike up a partnership with Kane.
He has all the attributes that could help push Tottenham on, and go one step further than this season’s second placed finish.
And with the opening of the transfer window just around the corner, it could be one to keep an eye on.
