West Ham United have struggled to settle in their new stadium this season, much the same as Tottenham Hotspur have done at Wembley.

Former Spurs boss Gerry Francis was a guest on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme, broadcast at 10:08 am on Wednesday May 3rd, and explained how the Hammers have maybe been unfairly judged on their poor home form, after moving into the London Stadium at the start of the season.
West Ham have endured a miserable campaign in the Premier League thus far, with their performances at their new home a particular cause for concern, after winning just six of the 17 league games they have played on their own patch.
There was always going to be a sustained period of time before the Hammers squad became accustomed to playing on a pitch that is a lot larger than their old Upton Park stomping ground.
And Francis explained why his former club Tottenham are a perfect example of how teams can struggle when playing at new venues, when speaking live on Sky Sports’ Premier League Daily programme:

“You’ve only got to look at Tottenham. There they are with this magnificent home record (at White Hart Lane), but playing at Wembley they have hardly won a game. And that’s a similar scenario (to West Ham). It’s not easy.”
The East London outfit have now all but secured their Premier League status for another season, and after a full campaign playing at their new arena, their fans will be hoping to see a vast improvement next term.
Contrastingly for Spurs, their fans will be slightly concerned about their chances of achieving success next season, with all of their home games set to be played at the home of the England national team.
