Rangers decided to release youngster Ciaran Dickson this summer, and he has now ended up signing for their bitter rivals Celtic.

The Gers seemingly had high hopes for Dickson at one point. Steven Gerrard included him in Europa League squads last season, and even had him on the bench in the 3-3 draw at Benfica.

Dickson then came off the bench in a 4-0 cup win over Falkirk, and boy did Rangers fans love what they saw from him.

‘Phenomenal’ they said, believing he didn’t look out of place in the Rangers first team setup in November of last year.

Yet come the end of the season, Rangers let Dickson leave Ibrox, deciding to move on from the midfielder despite his apparent potential.

Dickson ended up training at Burnley whilst Ross County and Gillingham showed an interest in signing the 18-year-old.

Now though, Dickson has made the most controversial move of all, signing for Rangers’ bitter rivals Celtic in a shock move.

Dickson lined up for Celtic B in an SPFL Trust Trophy game against Morton, and actually scored in a 3-1 defeat.

With his goalscoring account for Celtic now open, Dickson will hope to push on towards the first team and prove Rangers wrong for letting him walk away.
