Umar Sadiq had a very unmemorable stint at Rangers.
The Ibrox side terminated Sadiq’s season-long loan from Roma in January, with the 22-year-old starting just the one game for Rangers in four months – a League Cup defeat by Aberdeen.
The towering Nigerian striker wound up joining Serie B side Perugia on loan after returning to Italy.
And despite a very slow start, it looks like Sadiq is finally finding his feet.
The player, who didn’t score in any of his three appearances for Rangers across all competitions, has netted once in his last two games for Perugia.
Sadiq opened the scoring in a 3-2 win at Venezia last month – his sixth game for the club – and also scored his side’s second goal in a 3-1 victory over Salernitana last weekend.
Steven Gerrard signed Jermain Defoe in January, which is one hell of a replacement.
Nobody is suggesting that Rangers are missing Sadiq, but perhaps he was better than he showed during his short-lived spell in Glasgow.
