Former Rangers defender Michael Ball thinks it isn’t a surprise that Ryan Kent is reportedly chasing a new deal at Ibrox – and insists he deserves it after a stunning season for the Light Blues.
According to GiveMeSport, Kent wants a new deal as a reward after his fantastic form helped Rangers secure the Scottish Premiership for the first time in a decade.
Ball has been expecting it to come and hailed the former Liverpool youngster as a “massive hit” in Scotland since his move to Ibrox.
“I think we’ve probably seen this coming for a long time,” Ball told Football Fan Cast.
“It was a big outlay for Rangers at the time to bring to the football club, quite surprising that they had those funds to bring him there, and he’s been a massive hit.

“He’s improved himself, he’s been one of the key players for Rangers and they’ve had a successful, fantastic year.”
Kent scored 12 times and contributed 11 assists as the Light Blues romped to the title, leading to reported interest from a number of clubs.
While Rangers’ hand may eventually be forced if someone offers enough money, gettign Kent tied down to an improved contract would go some way to increasing his value.
