Gedion Zelalem impressed during his season-long loan at Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers in 2016.

Rangers host Aberdeen in a Scottish Cup replay at Ibrox tomorrow.
The Gers have the chance to move into the semi-final of the competition for the third year in a row, with the three previous games being against Celtic.
Their Old Firm rivals won the last two, but Mark Warburton’s side – then a Championship club – eliminated the Hoops on penalties in 2016.
One man who did his bit for Rangers that day was Gedion Zelalem, who has today joined MLS side Sporting Kansas City from Arsenal [official site].
Zelalem, who came on as an 88th-minute substitute at Hampden Park and impressed during extra time, kept his nerve in front of the booing opposition fans to casually stroke home his penalty during sudden death.
Whilst jogging back to the centre spot, the USA international shushed the already-silenced Bhoys supporters, instantly becoming something of a cult hero on the blue half of Glasgow.
The 22-year-old started the final but couldn’t impact the game as Hibernian won 3-2.
Zelalem spent the first half of the following season with Arsene Wenger’s senior squad, before being loaned to VVV-Venlo in the Netherlands’ second tier.
He only returned to training in October of 2018 following a 16-month absence with a cruciate knee injury.
Playing in central midfield, Zelalem didn’t score in any of his 29 games for the light Blues across all competitions, but did set up seven goals.
