West Ham United have been linked with Celtic striker Moussa Dembele in the January transfer window.

Former Rangers attacker Gordon Smith has suggested to The Sunday Post that Moussa Dembele could leave Celtic in the January transfer window.

Dembele is one of the best young players in the Scottish Premiership and has been linked with a move to West Ham United in the January transfer window.

According to The Scottish Sun, West Ham are preparing to make a bid for the 20-year-old French forward.

Celtic are a massive club and signed the youngster only in the summer transfer window, and it is hard to see the Bhoys parting company with him so early.

Perhaps a move away from Celtic Park could happen at the end of the season, but in January? Probably not.

Former Rangers attacker Smith, though, has suggested that Celtic could lose the France Under-21 international forward in the January transfer window.

“I suspect, despite manager Brendan Rodgers’ assertions to the contrary, Dembele’s transfer might still go through,” Smith told The Sunday Post.

“It was interesting to read reports the Hoops would be agreeable to a bid in the region of £30-million, and West Ham’s need to bring in a quality goalscorer is clear.”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 58 points from 20 matches.

Brendan Rodgers’s side are 19 points clear of second placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers and have a game in hand.
