Former Rangers midfielder Sean Goss has made a surprise return to Scottish football, joining Motherwell on a two-year deal following his exit from EFL League One side Shrewsbury Town.

Goss, who started his career at Manchester United, moved to QPR in 2017 and had stints on loan with Rangers and St. Johnstone.
While coming through the Academy at Old Trafford, Goss was a team-mate of new Fir Park colleague Liam Grimshaw, and Steelmen boss Graham Alexander is delighted to bring in the midfielder ahead of the transfer window closing.
“Sean is a player I’ve been interested in for a while now, and I’m delighted to bring him in to strengthen our midfield options,” Alexander said after Goss’ signing was confirmed.
“I believe he has great untapped potential to be a top player with the ability he has, while we can help him improve the things he needs to.
“He also has previous experience of Scottish football and we look forward to working with him.”
Goss spent two years at Shrewsbury following his move to the Meadow in 2019, making 54 appearances and scoring four times.
The German-born midfielder made 15 appearances for Rangers after he was signed on loan by Graeme Murty but failed to make a big impact with supporters at Ibrox – although Murty said he wanted to sign Goss permanently.

He could come into the Motherwell side this weekend when the Steelmen face Dundee at Fir Park in the Scottish Premiership.
