The Scottish winger has headed to RB Leipzig.
Gary Gardner – Aston Villa in action
Nottingham Forest’s star young talent Oliver Burke was sold by the club yesterday. The Scotland international was snapped up for £13 million by controversial Bundesliga side RB Leipzig – who are owned by energy drink firm Red Bull.
It was a deal that came as a shock, especially with plenty of Premier League teams said to be interested in the player, and considering he’s only made 10 starts for Forest.

The shock location and the timing of the deal, just a few days before the transfer window closes, has left Forest fans livid and confused – whilst one former Forest loanee was certainly surprised by the deal.

Aston Vila midfielder Gary Gardner, who has spent two spells on loan at Forest, had this message for the Scot on Twitter:
Gardner’s message certainly sums up the general consensus regarding Burke – surprise.
The destination seems an odd place for Burke to try and develop whilst Forest now have very little time to find a suitable replacement for the powerful winger.
Forest fans will hope that the £13 million is invested correctly in the first-team squad at the City Ground.
