Nottingham Forest lost 2-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon in what was a fairly drab display at the City Ground.

Goals from Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro won the game for Wolves against an injury-hit Forest team but it was still not a performance that Forest could look back on with any joy.

Throughout the game they were terrible and thoroughly deserved to lose against Paul Lambert’s men.

But what was really poor from Forest was their sheer lack of fight in the second-half, despite being 2-0 down.

Former Nottingham Forest and Republic of Ireland defender John Thompson was speaking on BBC Nottingham Sport when he made his feelings clear on what was a poor display from Forest:

“I expected so much more from Forest. They should’ve come out in the second half and fought for it.

“The second half for me was just dreadful.

“There was no fight there and nothing to get back in the game.

“Forest didn’t look they had any answers and I couldn’t see where a goal was coming from. Shouldn’t be like that at home.”

Forest have plenty of their key men out injured at the moment – with the likes of Henri Lansbury, Britt Assombalonga and Damien Perquis all missing from first-team action.

Forest are now winless in their last three games and will be hoping to get back to winning ways against promotion hopefuls Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day.
