Chris Paul and the Los Angeles Clippers have grabbed the attention of the NBA community.
Why? Well, the Los Angeles Clippers decided to release the veteran point guard in the middle of the season.
Moreover, most fans found this out via an Instagram story posted by Chris Paul that he’s being sent home. Since the news broke out, the Clippers have landed in deep water for betraying CP3.
This includes, Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue, who reportedly played a role in Paul’s surprising exit from the team. However, former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins sided with the Clippers’ head coach.

Kendrick Perkins says Chris Paul was ‘doing stuff behind Ty Lue’s back’
Before becoming a full-time NBA analyst, Perkins spent 14 years in the league as player and even won one championship.
On top of that, Perkins had a chance to play under head coach Lue during his short stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Keeping that in mind, Big Perk certainly has a relationship with Lue.
That’s why Perkins shared a unique take on the Lue-Paul controversy during the latest episode of The Road Trippin’ podcast.
“When you think about and we hear these stories about, ‘Oh, Ty Lue wasn’t speaking to him,’ or ‘He wouldn’t take a meeting with him,’ or ‘They wasn’t on speaking terms for three weeks,’ it gets you to thinking: What the hell was CP3 doing?” Perkins asked.
He then revealed that Paul essentially betrayed coach Lue by going behind his back in the name of leading the team.
“It was stuff that kept building up throughout the course of the season,” Perkins added. “He was doing stuff behind Ty Lue’s back, going to players, whispering, saying things, and causing turmoil when the team is already struggling and going through a lot.”
Kendrick Perkins says Chris Paul is ‘no saint’
Perkins delivered a punch in the gut by claiming anonymous sources have messaged him about Paul not being completely innocent in the fiasco either.
“I’ve been reading, I’ve been listening, and it’s a lot of people that have been commenting, a lot of text messages I’ve been receiving, that said, ‘Hey Perk, stop it now. You know CP3 ain’t no saint.’
“And these were people that actually shared a locker room with CP3,” he concluded.
Whether Lue played a role in Paul’s release or not is up for discussion. But one thing is certain: The Clippers’ approach of parting ways with a legendary point guard was wrong.
