The young goalkeeper spent last season on loan with Tottenham Hotspur.

Former Espanyol manager Sergio Gonzalez sat down for an exclusive interview with Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, and discussed the future of his former player Pau Lopez, suggesting that a return to Spurs is not totally out of the question.
The 23-year-old joined Tottenham on loan on transfer deadline day in 2016, but failed to make a single competitive appearance for the club, before returning to Espanyol at the end of last season.

He has been ever present for his club in La Liga this term, appearing in all 19 of their league games, and has showcased his impressive talent on a consistent basis.
And former Espanyol manager Gonzalez raved about the quality of the young stopper during an exclusive interview with Italian publication Tutto Mercato Web.
He explained how a return to north London for Lopez is not necessarily out of the question:

“Without a doubt, Pau has a great future ahead of him, whether he is at Espanyol, in Italy or again at Tottenham, I wish him the best decision for his career. Pau has to do what he feels inside… certainly going abroad does not intimidate him, as he showed during the loan, despite the fact that he has never played. The Premier League experience was fundamental, Lopez grew up again and Spurs goalkeeping coach Toni Jimenez gave him valuable advice.”
Hugo Lloris is undoubtedly Spurs’ number one goalkeeper, and with Michel Vorm next in line for the jersey, it is hard to see a scenario where Lopez would get a chance at Tottenham.
If either of those two leave the Lilywhites in the summer, however, there is no reason why a return to Spurs should be out of the question for the 23-year-old ‘keeper.
