Dexter Blackstock (C) scores the second goal for Leeds United
Leeds United are facing something of a shortage in the striker position, after failing to bring in an attacker prior to the transfer window shutting on Wednesday.
Leeds were said to have strikers on the mind on deadline day but failed to conclude any deal for a goal threat.
But has one potentially decent option just become available?
Dexter Blackstock (C) scores the third goal for Nottingham Forest
Dexter Blackstock severed ties with Nottingham Forest by mutual consent yesterday, in a similar fashion to Sol Bamba’s Leeds United exit.
Blackstock of course has spent time at Leeds before. The Antigua and Barbuda striker spent two months on loan at Elland Road in 2013, scoring on his debut with his first touch against local rivals Huddersfield Town.
But his deal ended early after a knee injury and he never truly got to show off his talent at Leeds.

This is not the only Leeds connection that Blackstock has. The 30-year-old is also a former Southampton team-mate of current Leeds boss Garry Monk.
He is certainly not the player he was three years ago and not the marquee signing Leeds would have liked to have made.
But the situation being what it is Blackstock might be Leeds’ best option to add depth up top until January.
