Once a regular in the gossip columns, the former Leeds United target is not exactly pulling up trees with Club Brugge.
Prior to Thomas Christiansen’s and Victor Orta’s impressive overhaul at Leeds United, the same names were cropping up in the gossip columns time and again, with Anthony Limbombe being one of the most consistent, so how is the one-time Whites target getting on now.
Leeds fans may be relieved to hear that the winger regularly tipped to make the switch from NEC Nijmegen to Elland Road is not exactly pulling up trees at his current club Brugge.
Now 23, the left winger has featured 11 times this season, scoring just one goal and providing one assist, while his two goals and six assists in 39 games since arriving is hardly breathtaking.
Back in August 2015, the Yorkshire Evening Post reported that Leeds had offered £1.5million for the wide man, and that while that offer was refused, talks between the Whites and NEC were continuing.
In the end, nothing came of it, and although Leeds fans had to wait a while, they now have the likes of Ezgjan Alioski and Samu Saiz, who are far more exciting and effective alternatives to the Belgian.
It goes to show the standard of player Leeds were once linked with compared with those they can now entice to the club, especially when you consider what it would have taken to convince NEC to sell two years earlier.
