The ex-Whites boss believes the 16-year-old will be a future star at Elland Road.

Former Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn has told Radio Yorkshire that the club could have a future star in the making in the form of Jamie Shackleton.
The Whites have been notable for producing impressive young talent in recent years, with the like of Lewis Cook, Charlie Taylor, and Alex Mowatt, to name just a few, coming through the academy to become first-team stars.
Redfearn oversaw the development of that trio, plus all the other young stars to reach senior level at Elland Road in recent years, in his role as academy director from 2010 to 2015, punctuated by several brief spells in charge of the first team.

The 51-year-old only left his role at the Yorkshire club last summer, and remembers one more great future talent who is yet to make it in the senior set-up.
Redfearn told Radio Yorkshire: “There’s a little boy, a midfield player called Jamie Shackleton. I think he’s got a great chance.

“I think he’s a good footballer, he’s got great feet. He’s not the biggest, but he’s very tenacious. He reads the game well.”
Shackleton has certainly been making waves at Leeds since Redfearn’s departure.
The 16-year-old had starred at a number of early youth levels for the club, and was recently promoted to Jason Blunt’s Under-23 side despite his tender age.
The attacking midfielder signed a scholarship deal at the club earlier this year, and all the signs seem to suggest that he has what it takes to go on to become a future star in the first team.
