Leeds United have exceeded all expectations for far this season.

During an interview with Yorkshire TV’s official YouTube account, former Whites boss Neil Redfearn pointed out what could be a huge problem for Leeds United this season.

Garry Monk’s men produced another wonderful display last night, beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Elland Road, and in doing so, climbed back up to third position in the Championship table.

But during an interview with Yorkshire TV’s official YouTube account, Redfearn highlighted how reliant Leeds have become on Chris Wood, and stressed the importance of keeping him fit for the remainder of their campaign:

“Well he is [important], because if you take his goals out obviously there will be a problem. I just think his general play as well, the way he works hard and closes down, his touch is good, his movements really good and he always looks a danger. He always manages to get right in front of goal and they’re very aware of him in the opposition, but there’s nothing they can do about him at the minute.”

The New Zealand international has been the driving force behind Leeds’ excellent form so far this term, and has scored 17 goals in 27 Championship appearances thus far.

And if he can continue that kind of goalscoring form, the West Yorkshire outfit have every chance of achieving promotion to the Premeir League – something that would have seemed hopeful to say the least before the 2016/17 campaign kicked off.

Next up for Leeds is a trip to Sutton United on Sunday in the fourth round of the FA Cup, before they switch their attention back to the Championship with an away game against Blackburn Rovers on February 1st.
