Former Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino has revealed his Florida home was wrecked by Hurricane Irma.
The powerful hurricane which destroyed several Caribbean islands hit the US coastline on Sunday night.
Cellino owns a property in Miami and spent several months there during his time at Leeds United, when he was suspended by the Football League.
He sold his stake in Leeds in the summer to Andrea Radrizzani and bought a majority stake in Italian Serie B side Brescia.
Cellino told the Brescia Oggi: “Unfortunately, my home suffered damage.”
Adding about his cars he kept on the property, he said: “But now I do not have them anymore: they’re all completely destroyed.”
“No one in my family, fortunately, was in Florida during these days. And I’ve never lived near a hurricane. I was lucky and I hope I will never experience such a thing in my life.”
Cellino’s Brescia ownership was only ratified in the middle of last month, meaning there was little time for him to get started and conduct transfer business.
He is currently involved with other Serie B owners in electing a new commissioner of the division.
His former side Leeds are going from strength to strength, now sitting top of the Championship after three successive years finishing outside the play-off positions under his ownership.
