Two years after leaving Leeds, Rodolph Austin faces an uncertain future once more.

It was two summers ago that Rodolph Austin received the shock news that Leeds United would not be renewing his contract.

The former club captain’s bid to move to another Championship club was then scuppered as he was surprisingly denied a work permit, and he had to settle on a move to Danish side Brondby instead.

The Jamaican international now faces another uncertain future, with his Brondby contract set to expire in June.

Austin offered a timely reminder of his talents this weekend, by scoring his first league goal for the club since November 2015.

His strike helped Brondby to 2-0 away win over AC Horsens, and was his third in 39 appearances, scoring previously in a cup competition last August.

Danish outlet Tipsbladet report Austin could well be released in the summer, with no sign of a contract extension yet heading his way.

He told the outlet he is trying not to let the uncertainty affect him: “It is up to the club. I try to be professional. I train well, and I help the team as best I can. And then it is just to do the best I can when I get the chance.”

Austin has 88 international caps for Jamaica, which made his work permit problems all the more surprising.

The midfielder played in 112 games for Leeds after signing in 2012, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists.
