The German is enjoying himself at the League One team after a tumultuous stint at Leeds United under Massimo Cellino.

Fleetwood Town boss and former Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler has been commenting on how his current club is run – suggesting he is enjoying himself more at Highbury Stadium.

The German was speaking to the Daily Star when he had this to say about Fleetwood Town chairman Andy Pilley, who seems to be a different prospect to Leeds United’s maverick chairman Massimo Cellino:

“The club has a chairman who is very passionate and is committed to the club and community here.

“He’s driving this club forward sensibly. He knows where this club is now and what’s needed to get them to where they want to be. But he’s in no hurry.

“He doesn’t want to achieve it today – he can wait.

“He wants to win games, we all do, but he wants to see the club continuing to progress and doing it the right way.

“I needed to be in an environment where I could work with players and get realistic targets.

“This club has given me this opportunity.”

Rosler managed just 12 games at Leeds, winning two of them, before being sacked by Massimo Cellino and replaced by Steve Evans at the start of last season.

Rosler struggled to impress his ideas onto the Leeds side during his brief spell in charge but, if given more time, perhaps he might have had success at the club.

Cellino has, of course, got a reputation for sacking managers swiftly. Dave Hockaday and Darko Milanic did no better than Rosler at Elland Road.

But in defence of the Italian, after a poor start to the season this term, he stuck by Garry Monk when he was seemingly under pressure at Leeds.

That has paid dividends, with Leeds now sixth in the Championship table and dreaming of promotion. As for Rosler, the Cod Army are 13th in the League One table and could easily end up in a promotion fight or relegation battle this season. Leeds fans would surely not begrudge the German any success.
