Leeds United will travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the quarter-final of the EFL Cup on November 29th.

Former Leeds manager, and current football ambassador at the club Eddie Gray described his disappointment at the Whites’ away draw to Liverpool in the EFL Cup quarter-final, claiming that Elland Road would have been bouncing had they got a home draw, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The West Yorkshire outfit produced a magnificent performance at home to Norwich City in the last round of the competition, eventually going through to the quarter-final after emerging victorious from a penalty shootout against the Canaries.

Gray spoke to leedsunited.com, and explained how disappointed he was when Leeds were prevented the chance of playing at Elland Road in the next round of the EFL Cup:
“I wish it would have been at Elland Road. We have had some mighty battles with Liverpool over the years and fans don’t forget that, the place would have been packed. It will still be a big crowd at Anfield, but you want to see your 35,000 supporters and it would have been an attractive game. So that’s the only disappointment.”

Garry Monk’s men will head to Anfield full of confidence, after an impressive run of form which has seen them climb to ninth position in the Championship table, just one point adrift of the play-off spots.
Next up for Leeds is a trip to Carrow Road to take on Norwich before they host Championship leaders Newcastle United at Elland Road, and if they manage to go unbeaten during those games, they will surely be considered as genuine promotion contenders.
