The England international is clearly confused about the sacking.
Birmingham City have caused something of a shock today by deciding to sack their manager Gary Rowett.
The Championship side have been performing wonders in recent times under the guidance of the former Burton Albion boss, who has been excellent for the club since his arrival in October 2014.
Stoke’s Jack Butland
Considering that Birmingham are seventh in the table and beat Ipswich Town earlier this week, the move certainly came as a shock to many.
He left with much of the backroom staff and it is not a move that has gone down well with the football community.
Former Birmingham manager Gary Rowett
One man who joined that chorus was former Birmingham talent Jack Butland.
The England international, who started his professional career at Birmingham, sent this simple tweet conveying his disbelief at the decision:
Birmingham are said to be in the process of employing former Watford manager Gianfranco Zola as the replacement for Rowett in a move that will certainly polarize opinion.
The news comes days after a board reshuffle and Birmingham fans will hope the sacking of Rowett does not negatively impact their push for the play-offs.
