Gary McSwegan has raved about Rangers attacking player Ianis Hagi to The Herald.
The former Rangers striker believes that Hagi, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a forward, is a promising player.
McSwegan has added that the 21-year-old Romania international has got the X-Factor and can make a real difference for Rangers next season.
McSwegan told The Herald: “The boy Hagi has got a lot of promise. Players tend to do better at a club in their second season.
“He has got the hang of it, has seen what the club is about and has a fair idea of what to expect going forward.
“That will stand him in good stead when they go back in for the new season. He has got good technique.
“He is a guy who has maybe got that X Factor, the ability to come up with something different, that will make a real difference.”
Permanent Rangers move
Rangers recently made Hagi’s loan deal from Genk permanent for a transfer fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £3 million.
The 21-year-old initially joined the Gers on loan from the Belgian club in the January transfer window until the end of the season.
Big player next season
Hagi did well during his loan spell at Rangers, especially in the Europa League, and it made sense for manager Steven Gerrard to make his loan deal permanent.
Rangers will be going all out to stop their bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership next season, as the Hoops chase 10 league titles in a row, and Hagi will play a key role in that quest.
