Rangers beat Partick Thistle 2-1 away from home this afternoon.
Peter Lovenkrands at Rangers
Former Rangers hero Peter Lovenkrands has taken to Twitter to react to the club’s 2-1 win at Partick Thistle this afternoon.
The Gers travelled to Firhill in search of three points having beaten Dundee 1-0 last weekend, and struggling Partick Thistle were seen as the ideal team to play in a bid to notch another victory.
However, Alan Archibald’s men took the lead as Kris Doolan converted from close range to put Partick 1-0 up on 76 minutes, putting Rangers on the verge of a surprise defeat.
Rangers did hit back though, as summer signing Joe Dodoo equalised on 81 minutes, before the former Leicester City striker snatched an injury-time winner for the Gers.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton
Mark Warburton will be delighted with how his side came from behind to grab a win, and they’ve now closed the gap to leaders Celtic to just eight points – though the Bhoys do have two games in hand.
After the final whistle, former Rangers winger Peter Lovenkrands – who hit 54 goals in 182 games for the club – took to Twitter to offer his reaction to the victory.
Joe Dodoo
The Dane suggested that Rangers’ performance wasn’t pretty, but the three points were the most important thing – and it’s now on to the next one for the Gers, as they travel to face Hearts on Wednesday.
