McGinn left Hibernian to join Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

Michael Stewart, the former Hibernian midfielder, has issued a warning to Aston Villa about John McGinn.
McGinn has impressed since his move to Villa from Hibs in August, scoring one goal – a jaw-dropping volley in a 2-1 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday – and setting up two in his first eight appearances in claret and blue.
The result left Aston Villa 13th in the Championship standings, at the start of their third season outside of the Premier League.
And speaking to BT Sport on Tuesday, Stewart inadvertently urged Steve Bruce’s side to get their act together if they wish to keep McGinn.
“He’ll be in the Premier League next year, either with Villa going up or somebody will buy him,” he said.

Aston Villa are reported to have seen off strong competition to win McGinn’s signature, for a fee of around £2.75 million (Transfermarkt).
And Stephen Craigan, the former Northern Ireland international appearing alongside Stewart on BT Sport, added: “(McGinn’s form) almost makes a mockery of the fact that Celtic didn’t go and sign him.
“His reputation is building more and more. His value is going up tenfold.”

The son of a former Celtic chairman, McGinn came through the ranks at St Mirren and spent three seasons on Hibs’ books.
