Eddie Hall didn’t waste any time looking for his next fight after his debut win.
The 2017 World’s Strongest Man made a huge impression in his first MMA appearance, stopping Mariusz Pudzianowski in just 30 seconds at KSW 105.
It was an incredible result. Hall took out a five-time World’s Strongest Man and seasoned MMA veteran in less than a minute.
After the fight, he spoke about wanting a rematch and then mentioned the idea of facing Francis Ngannou, even though he had previously said he wasn’t interested in that matchup.
Butterbean sets sights on Eddie Hall after announcing boxing return
Boxing legend Butterbean, whose real name is Eric Esch, has announced plans to come out of retirement in 2025.
He’s already mentioned Jake Paul as a target, and also named heavyweights Brock Lesnar and Mike Tyson as potential opponents.
His last encounter with Pudzianowski ended quickly, lasting just 75 seconds in an MMA fight over a decade ago. But the 58-year-old believes he still has what it takes to compete with the Polish fighter – or against the man who recently defeated him.
“I’d love to fight Pudzianowski again,” Butterbean said during an exclusive interview with Bloody Elbow.
“I’d love to fight Hall, too. If Hall wants to fight in a boxing match, I’m game.”
“If he thinks he’s tough, I would show him who’s tough.”
Butterbean makes clear stance on MMA return
Butterbean has made it clear that any potential fight with Eddie Hall would have to take place in a boxing ring.
The 58-year-old, who once held the IBA Super Heavyweight title, explained that his time in mixed martial arts is behind him, not just because of age but also due to medical reason.
“I fought in Pride, K1, and Cage Rage. I fought in almost all of them except the UFC because they have this crazy rule that you have to be under 265lbs,” Butterbean said.
“Come on, guys. Now I could get there. I’m at 280lbs right now, and I could get down to 260 if they would let me fight. But with my new hips, I can’t fight UFC.”
Eddie Hall may not be interested in returning to boxing after his loss to Thor Bjornsson back in 2022, but no official decision has been made yet.
