Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez only has 18 months left to run on his current deal with the club.

Reports emerged yesterday claiming that Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez is being offered an incredible £400,000 per week to move to the Chinese Super League (the Sun), and former Gunners star Lee Dixon has claimed it would be ‘disgusting’ if the Chilean left the Emirates for purely financial reasons, as quoted by the Metro.

The former Barcelona man has been in scintillating form for Arsene Wenger’s men this season, scoring 13 goals and registering seven assists in 20 games for the Gunners.

His performances have earned him high praise, with fans and pundits alike claiming that the 27-year-old forward must now be considered as world-class.

Dixon, though, suggested that there is no reason why Sanchez should want to leave the Premier League, and certainly not with a move to China, as quoted by the Metro:

“It isn’t tricky is it? How much do you want? The way you speak to Sanchez is “it’s China”. You’re still at the peak of your powers, you do not want to be going anywhere other than the Premier League. He’s been in Spain, now in the Premier League. He wants to stay. If it’s about money it’s disgusting but it won’t be about money.”

Arsenal fans will be hoping that they can tie down their star man to a new long-term deal, in the hope that history will not repeat itself, after losing some of their best players over the last five years, due to their contracts being running down to the final 12 months.
