Former Everton player Don Hutchinson has taken to Twitter to react after watching a chaotic moment involving Jordan Pickford and Jarrad Branthwaite last night.
What’s the story?
Well, in the 65th minute of Everton’s 3-1 defeat to Newcastle, Michael Keane played a poor pass back to Pickford.
It was bobbling along the ground, which led to the England international slicing his clearance high and wide.
The ball eventually fell to Branthwaite, who tried to do what Pickford could not in hoofing the ball to safety.
However, the 19-year-old made an even bigger mess of the situation by slicing the ball behind for a corner, much to the delight of the Newcastle fans.
Hutchinson could only facepalm at the embarrassing moment, through the use of an emoji on Twitter – you can see his wordless tweet below.
It was a chaotic moment from the Toffees duo, and if it had led to a goal, Frank Lampard would’ve surely been livid.
Everton must stop shooting themselves in the foot

Make no mistake about it, Everton are in a relegation battle.
After losing to Newcastle, the Toffees are just three points above the relegation zone – at the time of writing, Norwich are yet to face Crystal Palace.
As a result of this, Everton have to keep things simple.

For example, that means not putting Pickford under unnecessary pressure, or any Everton player, in truth.
It’s time to go back to the basics, and whatever Pickford and Branthwaite were doing last night was far from the basics.
Everton need to sort themselves out and avoid more chaotic moments like this pretty quickly, or the Championship could be on the horizon.
