Tim Cahill has taken aim at former Everton teammate Phil Neville on his Instagram post.

Cahill was celebrating the fact that it is 14 years to the day since he signed for Everton for the first time on his social media account.

However, Neville used the post as a way to take a dig at the Australian, saying ‘move on, pal’.

The comment was clearly intended as a joke, but it did not go down well with the Everton faithful.

And Cahill ended up having the last laugh anyway, with the former Toffees man saying: ‘Never pal. Everton will always be part of me. You wouldn’t know that feeling’.

The comments have now been deleted, but plenty of Everton fans spotted them and took screenshots.

Cahill hung up his boots this summer, after a great career – where he represented clubs in multiple countries.

It was at Everton that Cahill really found a home though, after making 278 appearances for the Toffees across an eight year stay at Goodison Park.
