HITC Sport understands Wigan have moved to bring former coach Doolan back into a new management set-up.
Warren Joyce sakced by Wigan earlier this week
Wigan Athletic have drafted in former coach John Doolan to work alongside interim boss Graham Barrow for the remainder of the season, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Highly-rated coach Doolan has worked with Wigan’s Under-18s and was also part of the first-team coaching staff during Uwe Rosler’s spell in charge at the DW Stadium.

Former Wigan player Doolan has been out of work since leaving Rotherham along with Alan Stubbs last October.
Wigan have named Barrow as manager until the end of the season following the sacking of Warren Joyce earlier this week.
The Latics decided to axe Joyce and head of first-team coaching Andy Welsh with the club sitting second bottom of the Championship with nine games remaining this season.
Joyce won just six of his 24 games in charge after taking over Wigan in November and they are currently four points adrift of safety.
Dan Burn of Wigan Athletic applauds fans
Barrow is a big admirer of Doolan and sees him as a valuable addition to his coaching team as they look to mastermind a late survival bid from Wigan.
Doolan boasts a wealth of coaching experience having worked at Wigan, Everton, Hibernian and Rotherham in his career and he is set to named on the coaching staff for this weekend’s clash with Aston Villa.
