Leeds United need a left-back and the Spanish under-19 international is set to leave Espanyol.
Victor Alvarez of Espanyol
Leeds United need to be on the hunt for a new left-back this summer. Charlie Taylor’s future appears to be away from the club, with his contract expiring in the summer and no sign of a shock renewal.
One thing that has been prevalent among Leeds’ recruitment under Garry Monk and assistant Pep Clotet is a propensity to look at former players. Kyle Bartley, Pablo Hernandez, Pontus Jansson and Marcus Antonsson are all former players of the management pair.
If they are to do similar again, then a former Clotet player might be a perfect option.
Victor Alvarez is leaving Espanyol this summer, after Quique Sanchez Flores confirmed he would not be offered a new deal by the La Liga side.

The 24-year-old was among the Espanyol youth-team when Clotet was working at the Barcelona-based club and has since gone on to become a first-team player.
The Catalan international, whose career was temporarily halted by heart surgery in 2013, is an attacking left-back similar in style to Taylor and on a free transfer he could be exactly what Leeds United need to replace their contract rebel.
