The Dutchman had an injury prone time at Celtic but appears to be in good spirits.

When Dutch wide-man Derk Boerrigter was signed by Celtic there was plenty of excitement revolving around his arrival.
Celtic paid a reported £3 million fee to sign the winger from Ajax back in 2013, according to ESPN.
It seemed a good deal considering he had been in the Dutch national squad in 2011 and had been a star for Ajax in 2011-12, scoring 10 goals in 23 appearances.
But his time at Celtic was less impressive. He suffered a series of injury problems. His last appearance for Celtic came in the Champions League defeat against NK Maribor in August 2014.
Since then he struggled with knee trouble and played just 25 games for Celtic in nearly three seasons, scoring one goal.
At the time of his release his agent Soren Lerby told the Scottish Sun that the Celtic flop was fully fit and training hard ahead of his next career move – with the USA looking enticing.

However, nothing ever materialised and nearly 20 months after his release and over three years since his last game, the 31-year-old has disappeared off the football map. Until now, sort of.
Because he has recently been in Scotland and has been playing football, well … footgolf to be precise.
He posted a picture on his Instagram recently showing him in Inverness and he participated in a video for The Beat Global in which he took on Dutch DJ Quintino at a round of footgolf, which ended with him booting balls at the latter’s rear-end. He politely reminds him that his nickname as a player was ‘The Canon’, because of his ferocious striking ability.
It’s certainly a fun video and Boerrigter looks to be in good nick, with his approach play on the course perfect. His football career appears to be at an end but judging by his Instagram posts from recent times the Dutch winger looks very happy in his current life and the Celtic woes are behind him.
He was never a bad signing for Celtic, simply put he was unlucky with a long list of injury trouble.
It would take a harsh football fan to begrudge him the good times he appears to be having.
