Rangers boss Mark Warburton is in danger of ending up like the Norwegian at Ibrox, explains the former Celtic striker.

Celtic and Rangers go head-to-head this afternoon in a hotly anticipated Old Firm derby at Parkhead. The pair have not met in the league in four years, but Rangers did best Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final last season.
That day was, for many a Celtic fan, the last straw regarding their manager Ronny Deila. The Norwegian left in the summer and was replaced by Brendan Rodgers.
Now, a former Celtic striker in Chris Sutton believes that Rangers boss Mark Warburton is suffering from the same problem that Deila had whilst he was in Glasgow.

He has no Plan B.
Writing in his column for the Daily Record Sutton stated:
“In that respect, it’s a huge game for Warburton.
“I don’t really want to compare him yet to Ronny Deila but the Norwegian was always slaughtered, by myself included, for never having a Plan B.
“Effectively, he lost his job because he played the same way game in and game out, even when he was getting exposed.
“Warburton is in danger of going the same way.
“I cannot think of one game this season where Rangers have not played the same way as usual.”

Rangers have certainly not had it all their own way since promotion. The Ibrox side do not currently look ready to challenge Celtic for the title – although the Old Firm derby later today may suggest otherwise.
But Warburton, who favours a possession based attacking style, certainly is not a manager to be underestimated.
Rangers so play a certain way under him but do not be surprised to see a change of philosophy against Celtic today, considering what appears a gap in quality between the sides at this stage of the season.
If not, then perhaps the Ibrox supremo is destined to go the same way as the Norwegian did across town.
