Glasgow Rangers midfielder Joey Barton recently made some bold comments about Celtic duo Scott Brown and Brendan Rodgers.

Former Celtic midfielder Alan Thompson has suggested to The Glasgow Evening Times the question Scott Brown should ask Rangers midfielder Joey Barton.
Barton, who has joined Scottish Premiership-bound Rangers on a free in the summer transfer window, recently made some bold and controversial comments about Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers and midfielder Scott Brown.
Brown is one of the best midfielders in the Scottish Premiership, but the former Newcastle United and Queens Park Rangers man told talkSPORT that the Scotland international is not in his league.
The Rangers midfielder also took a dig at new Celtic manager Rodgers, highlighting to The Mirror the fact that the former Liverpool and Swansea City boss has not won anything.

Former Celtic midfielder Thompson, who worked with Barton at Newcastle, has outlined Brown’s achievements.
“I have worked with both Scott and Joey and they are both excellent footballers,” Thompson told The Glasgow Evening Times.
“But if I were Scott, the first thing I would be asking Joey when we walked onto the pitch is ‘where are your caps?’
“Scott is an established international player, whereas that is an environment that Joey has never really been in, although he has been at some top clubs.”

Barton is a very good footballer and he should prove to be a brilliant signing for Rangers, but Brown does deserve credit for what he has achieved in his career so far.
While Brown has not played in the Premier League or in the Championship, he has featured in the Champions League and the Europa League.
The former Hibernian midfielder has also played 50 times for the Scotland national football team, scoring four goals in the process.
