David Hay has positive words for Celtic midfielder Scott Brown.
David Hay has suggested in The Glasgow Evening Times that Scott Brown has been the most consistent player for Celtic so far this season.
The former Celtic midfielder and manager has praised the Scotland international for his consistency.
Hay has also made positive comments about Celtic forward Moussa Dembele and winger Scott Sinclair.
Dembele joined the Glasgow giants in the summer transfer window after leaving English club Fulham at the end of the season.
Sinclair also moved to Celtic in the summer of 2016. The winger made the switch from Aston Villa.
“Meanwhile, while Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair have been exceptional for Celtic this season, I would have to say that at this halfway point of the campaign that no-one has surpassed Scott Brown in terms of his consistency and just how influential he has been to the team,” Hay wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times.
“He has been entirely re-invigorated since the arrival of Rodgers and if he maintains the same level of performance then you would have to expect that he will there or thereabouts when the individual awards are handed out at the end of the season.”
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 58 points from 20 matches.
Brendan Rodgers’s side are 19 points clear of second-placed and Old Firm rivals Rangers and have a game in hand.
The Hoops will return to action on January 22 when they take on Albion Rovers away from home at the Exsel Group Stadium in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
Celtic will end the month with back-to-back Scottish Premiership matches against St Johnstone and Heart of Midlothian at Celtic Park.
