Stuart Armstrong has been playing well for Celtic recently.

David Hay has praised Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong in The Glasgow Evening Times.

Hay was impressed with the performance of the 24-year-old for Celtic against Inverness Caledonian Thistle last weekend.

Armstrong featured in the Bhoys’ Scottish Premiership game against Inverness at Celtic Park.

The midfielder started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Hoops registered a 3-0 victory.

The Scotsman played most of the game at right-back after Mikael Lustig was taken off in the 15th minute due to injury.

The former Dundee United man played well in that position and showed his versatility.

Former Celtic midfielder and manager Hay was impressed with the performance of Armstrong.

The former Scotland international, though, has suggested that the Celtic player should not worry about muddying his blonde locks.

“Armstrong brings an energy to Celtic and although he lost the ball a lot when they were over in Germany against Borussia Monchengladbach his work ethic is good and he is always ready and prepared to get back,” Hay wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times.

“He was the best man on the park against Inverness, although he should have scored with that header.

“Someone has to tell him to twist his neck a little more – and that there is shampoo available in the shower afterwards so he doesn’t need to worry too much about muddying his blonde locks!”

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 31 points from 11 matches, 10 points clear of second-placed Aberdeen with a game in hand.

The Glasgow giants will take on Kilmarnock away from home at Rugby Park in the Scottish Premiership next week.
