Gary Medel was relatively well behaved during his brief stay in Britain, but he’s back to his old ways in Italy.

Inter Milan manager Frank de Boer has slammed midfielder Gary Medel after he was hit with a three game suspension for violent conduct, according to Football Italia.
De Boer’s appointment was intended to rejuvenate the 2009/10 treble winners after Roberto Mancini’s reign ended with a disappointing fourth placed finish last season, but the Dutchman (below) is now under severe pressure after losing three Serie A games in a row.

And the former Ajax boss with be without Medel for the next three fixtures after the Chilean was launched an elbow at Atalanta midfielder Jasmin Kurtic in Inter’s 2-1 reverse in the Bergamo.
“The club will decide if he gets fined. He hurt himself but also the team. He needs to know he made a mistake, at a time like this an experienced player like him is important for us,” de Boer told Football Italia.

“Soon we’ll know the outcome of the appeal but he’ll definitely miss tomorrow. He didn’t behave in a very intelligent way.”
The experienced international, who has won the Copa America on two occasions, spent one season with Cardiff City during their solitary campaign in the Premier League, his bite and tenacity not enough to save them from an abject return to the second tier.
This is not the first time Medel has been at the centre of a flashpoint during his controversial career.

The 29-year-old was left facing a lengthy ban at international level too recently, after he verbally abused a referee in Chile’s World Cup qualifying defeat to Paraguay.
