Terence Crawford is expected to make light work of Canelo Alvarez, according to Tim Bradley

One of boxing’s most highly-anticipated matchups is just weeks away, as Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford prepare to meet in a September superfight. Crawford will be stepping up multiple weight classes to challenge for Alvarez’s super middleweight titles.

Since the fight was announced earlier this year, plenty of analysts and former fighters have weighed in with their predictions. But one former champion isn’t giving Alvarez much of a chance to hand Crawford his first loss.

Alvarez’s recent performances, particularly in wins over Edgar Berlanga and William Scull, have sparked concerns about his current form. Against Scull in May, what was supposed to be a tune-up for the Crawford fight turned into a cautious display that left many questioning whether he’s still at his best.

Bradley has also been vocal about his doubts regarding Alvarez’s ability to keep up with Crawford’s skill set.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Tim Bradley didn’t hold back when asked for his thoughts on the matchup, predicting a clear victory for Crawford.

“I look at the performances by Canelo. I look at his last performance. They’ve been alright. It’s not like they’ve been, ‘Wow,’ they blew me away. So, I’m not worried about all of that,” Bradley said.

“The same thing with Crawford. I know he’s with SNAC, and I know some news came out this week. One other thing. It doesn’t matter if Canelo is on s***. He ain’t beating no Terence Crawford. You heard it here first!”

Oscar De La Hoya says Canelo can’t match Terence Crawford’s skill set

Crawford has the backing of more than just Bradley. Oscar De La Hoya, a Hall of Famer and Alvarez’s former promoter, also believes the Mexican icon won’t be able to deal with Crawford’s skills.

Bernard Hopkins, another heavyweight legend, feels similarly. He pointed to Crawford’s approach and game plan as key factors that could trouble Alvarez.

The build-up has included some tense faceoffs between the two fighters, adding fuel to a fight that already has plenty of attention. The answers to how it all plays out aren’t far off now.
